CONSCIOUS CONVERGENCE DREAMS

Conscious ConvergenceDreams afford a different view of life.

CONSCIOUS CONVERGENCE DREAMS are dreams tied to waking events or gatherings.  In mathematics, convergence is the property of approaching a limit.  In physiology, convergence is the coordinated turning of the eyes inward to a focus on an object at close range.  In biology, convergence is the adaptive evolution of superficially similar structures.  Convergence is a meeting place.

The morning of September 11, 2001, Jean Campbell watched on television as a second passenger airliner flew into the Twin Towers in Manhattan.  "As moderator for the online Bulletin Board of the International Association for the Study of Dreams website, I knew that many others (as I did myself) would probably have experienced dreams about the disaster.  I went to my computer and sent out an invitation to people to record their dreams online.  There were dozens of them."

The author of Group Dreaming: Dreams to the Tenth Power, Jean started the World Dreams Peace Bridge as "a bridge across which we can reach toward one another.  It is difficult to make war against someone with whom we have shared a dream."  Group dreaming is one form of conscious convergence.  Lucid dreaming is another.

To be conscious is to know.  It means you have an awareness of your environment and your own existence, sensations, and thoughts.  You are mentally perceptive or alert.  Awake.  Lucid.

Noted researcher and author of Lucid Dreaming, Robert Waggoner writes in his blog, "do we all connect subconsciously in a meta-web, mind-grid of a Collective Unconscious, which our ego blithely ignores as illusory dream fantasies?  Could we use lucid dreaming to provide scientific evidence of a mental realm or shared inner dimension? Lucid dreaming offers us a new and revolutionary psychological tool to investigate such questions."

In dreams, conscious convergence is the point where the unconscious becomes conscious, and we know it!  It is where we surface, and if only for a moment, hold the present moment reality of Oneness in our Mind.  This is the point where one becomes aware – LUCID – that one is dreaming.  Have you experienced lucid dreams that you know relate to your waking hours?  Have your dreams converged with another?  Or, has your waking life somehow merged with your dream life?  Share your dream, and how it relates to in your waking life here.

"The conscious convergence should be looked upon as the beginning of a process toward deepened unity consciousness that never stops."  – Carl Johan Calleman

Dream Date: ?? Gender: Male Country: USA

Before I slept, I was trying to decide the topic for the next public lecture I would give for the School of Metaphysics in June. I do one each month, and I needed to write and send out the announcements and emails for the next one ASAP. I felt stuck, trying to decide what to talk about this month and next month. I was thinking of talking about how to break habits, but wasn’t sure how to make it sound attractive. I asked my subconscious mind for help and took a nap.

    DREAM:

I am walking through the main room at the College of Metaphysics where I live and teach. I close my eyes for a moment and I walk in front of TM (male), who is another teacher there. He falls on me. I am lying on my belly on the cement floor with TM on me. I say something to him. And I say this is a lesson in communication, but he walks away.
I go to the office to type up a poster or PSA for the lecture I am giving soon about breaking habits. It will be in July and will have Uncle Sam on the posters. BK (male, a COM student) sits in a chair to my right. The computer monitor is not there. Instead, there are several mini-computers and mini-keyboards, and also I think a bowl of wire, all for getting data from or about cats. LB (female, COM teacher) has set this up for an experiment that she is doing.

    Dream Interpretation

After this dream, I decided it was best to move the habit lecture to early July and link it to celebrating freedom and independence. And I did make lots of posters for the lecture with Uncle Sam on them pointing and saying, “I want YOU to have more freedom.” For the upcoming lecture, I did a workshop on creativity and imagination, and used this dream as an example of how the subconscious mind can be a source of creative ideas. Cool!

    Conscious Convergence Dream

    September 2011

I dreampt that I  was in a room  with a woman who was fairly  young.  She wanted to show me something so  wewere transferred into a sick room.  There was a woman (her at a different age) lying on a bed.  Shewas being eaten by bugs, particularly her stomach.  She was inpain.  She had two sons.  They were at the foot of her bed praying.  The scene changed and I saw D*male and his ex-wife L*female.  They were a part of a religion.  They were like the aristocray.  Their clothing looked almost royal and they were a part of an inner circle who were treated like royalty.

D*male was part of an elite team who did healings.  He went into the room with the woman and the bugs.  Everyone kept telling her that she would live and be OK.  All of the “aristocracy” said this and D*male was silent.  She was in pain and the boys were scared.  She ended up calling D*male over to her and told him that she trusted him and as long as he said she could live she knew she would be OK.  Finally, after a little while, D*male went in and told her she was going to die.  A tremendous peace filled the room.  Finally someone had told her the truth and the truth she could deal with.  She and the boys felt safe knowing the truth.

    Interpretation:

The night after receiving this dream I called D*male.  It was so vivid that I felt compelled to tell him.  Afterwards I said,”I don’t know why I had this dream.”  “I do,” he told me.  What followed was that he and his ex-wife had been seriously committed Mormans and that they were always known as the “power couple.”  They were like the aristocracy and that he was part of an order of priests who were ordained to do a type of hands on healing.  There was a woman he knew who had cancer.  She had two little boys.  She said that the illness felt like she was being eaten alive.  He was the one she trusted to adminster to her and until he did so everyone in the church was insisting she would would heal.  When D*male adminstered the message he said something to the affect of “The angles are waiting for you.”  After that she knew the truth and she was filled with the peace to let go.

This dream prompted something profound for D*male.  He knew that he had a gift with his ability to administer.  He had been  accurate with births and deaths of various kinds as well as supernatural pneomina such as angels and other spirits.  He was able to come to a point of honesty within himself that he actually had some fear around this gift.  The accuracy of this is a responsibility and it was one that he had been ignoring.  It re-ignited the healer within him.  This dream ocurred just before a Spiritual Focus Weekend at the College of Metaphysics called the Spirit of the Healer which he immediately signed up to attend to learn more about this part of himself.  It was an amazing experience for us both.  For me to be able to receive a message that someone needed to hear and for that individual to revisit a profound and important part of himself revealed the magastey of dreams.
